Hi everyone!
I am Shreya,a director at Imaginate Club.I truly believe in expressing my opinions and my feelings.I like doing that by dancing and writing! You can express yourself in many unique ways! There once lived an unpopular girl called Maria Callas in Greece. She was not slim or pretty. However, when her mother heard her beautiful voice, she encouraged her to go ahead and persue singing. One night, she made her debut on the most prestigious opera house in the world. The audience hung on to every word. She went on to be the most famous soprano ever!
Maria Callas expressed herself through opera singing. The Brontë Sisters were very eloquent writers.Apparently, the answer they were given from people was-"Literature is a man's business".They worked hard to achieve their dreams. They had chosen to express themselves in the form of writing, and they became very popular writers! There are many hidden talents you have in you.You can unveil those talents by expressing yourself. Think about it,start engaging yourself in some hobbies that you always wanted to do.I have baked more in the last 4 weeks than I have ever baked in 4 years!Singing and dancing are just some! There's no limit to what you can do.(Except your home, for now).Even though you are at home:
Dance
Sing
Read
Write
Bake
Cook
Draw
Paint

I would like to share something I learned during the lockdown. It is called the art of 'doing nothing'.It's quite easy, stare at the trees outside your window, and think about whatever you want to.Don't go to sleep, though.Let your eyes be off a screen and just breathe the fresh air. It's so much fresher now! There are no cars that are honking, and the pollution is way lesser.
Also, the ozone layer is now healing! It's definitely Nature's Turn.Go ahead and read our founder-Tanisha's poem.
IT’S NATURE’S TURN – BY TANISHA DESAI
For centuries now, humans have been ruling the world,
After a reign of tyranny, nature’s wrath is unfurled
We robbed the lives of many birds, animals and fish,
Just so that we selfish beings could enjoy one fine dish
We set up factories and polluted the air
Poisonous gases were emitted without a care.
We made plastic a way of life,
Causing nature struggle and strife
We cleared the land and watched the forests burn.
Lo and Behold! Now it’s nature’s turn.
Because, over here, there is a lesson to be learned
For, if you observe closely, the tables have turned.
Nature is an angry teacher, and a strict one too
She’s using corona to teach both me and you.
Nature is coming to the height of her reign
After humanity’s torture and years of pain
We are jailed into our homes for our punishable deeds,
teaching us not to rob nature beyond our basic needs
As we learn our lesson, let’s look at the side that’s bright,
and prepare to enrich the world,
together let’s do what’s right.
Forever Man complains of lack of time for him
the destiny of his passion now does not look so grim.
Now that we are confined to our homes, let us chase our dream
Discover more about ourselves, unlock talents unseen.
For the first time, from neighbors’ houses, windchimes can be heard,
We can even hear the chirping of every little bird.
There is no pollution now, not a single car
Not even a truck or van can be seen from afar.
The leaves are breathing, trees are beginning to sway,
Listen up humans! Nature has something to say.
And if we don’t pay heed, we’ll have a heavy price to pay.
There is a lockdown, but it doesn’t apply to your mind.
The possibilities are numerous, there’s always a new one to find.

Stay home,stay safe!
Best,
Shreya Mehta
